Nature Talks Back™ began with a simple question: What if animals could talk?
What would they say about the things we leave behind? The places we share with them? The way we move through their homes?
I imagined they might have a few things to get off their chests—and probably a little attitude while doing it.
That idea became a way to bring humor, artwork, and conservation into the same conversation. A fox with something to say might make someone smile. That smile might make them stop, read the message, and think about something they otherwise would have walked past.
The goal has always been to give animals and nature a voice. Our partnership with Leave No Trace is a meaningful way to connect that voice with action.
Why Leave No Trace?
Leave No Trace helps people care for the outdoors through education, science, and practical guidance. Its name is a reminder that wherever we explore, we have a responsibility to reduce our impact and protect the places we enjoy.
When I started Nature Talks Back™, I wanted to build something people could feel connected to. Something that invited them to care about nature and see themselves as part of protecting it.
Leave No Trace fits that purpose because caring for the outdoors comes down to choices we can make whenever we spend time there.
We can carry our trash home, even when the nearest bin is miles away. We can admire wildlife while giving it space. We can pay attention to where we step and what we leave behind.
Those choices may seem small in the moment. But they matter to the animals that live there, the people who visit after us, and the places themselves.
We’re proud to be an official Leave No Trace partner and to give back 10% of sales from our Leave No Trace collection, after fees, to support their work. It’s one way we’re connecting our mission with action that helps protect the places animals call home.
A Smile Can Open a Conversation
Conservation can be a difficult subject. There are real problems, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin.
I believe humor can give people a place to start.
When an animal in a design says something funny, we lean in. We recognize a little of ourselves in the message. Suddenly, picking up our trash or respecting an animal’s space feels like a conversation we are part of.
That is the spirit behind Nature Talks Back™. I want people to feel invited, curious, and connected enough to take the next step.
There is room for a smile in a serious mission. Sometimes, that smile is what helps the message reach someone.
Carrying the Message Beyond the Trail
Our Leave No Trace collection gives people a way to carry that conversation into everyday life.
A shirt can catch someone’s eye at the grocery store, on a walk, or while meeting a friend for coffee. It can lead to a question about the artwork, the words, or what they mean.
That is an opportunity to share why we care.
The artwork becomes the message. The product becomes the vehicle for the message. And the person wearing it gets to help that message travel.
My hope is that it stays with us after we take the shirt off—that we remember to bring a bag for our trash, give wildlife a little more room, or leave a place better cared for because we stopped to think.
For the Love of the Wild
Nature gives us places to breathe, laugh, explore, and feel like ourselves again. For animals, those same places are home.
Our partnership with Leave No Trace is rooted in caring about both.
We do not have to know everything to begin. We can learn, pay attention, and make a thoughtful choice the next time we head outside.
Nature Talks Back™ will keep giving animals and nature a voice. I hope you’ll join us in listening—and carrying that care into the places you love.
